Gorean Palaces Marketing Review

The following are excerpts of the most recent Gorean Palaces Marketing Review which was published by Årgos of Gorean Palaces Federation in January 2012.

Just a little background history for those who do not know:

The Gorean Palaces site went up in January of 2009 with one purpose: Establish Palace Marketing online.

Each of the hosting companies for Palace focus on the selling of their own products; but no one other than The Palace dot com was actively promoting palace to the Chat Community.

A group of Palace owners got together (under the Gorean Palaces banner) and defined the objective and committed to helping newcomers to Palace find help in the transition to the chat format at the time.

Gorean Palaces consists of the following sites to promote Palace:

• Main Site (http://www.goreanpalaces.com): Presents the vibrancy of the community, it
provides a number of links out to other Palace sites, it provides a list of homes that will
welcome the user, it provides a simple download link to the P4 client and gives simple
tutorials on how to use the palace client.

• Forum (http://www.goreanpalaces.com/Forum): A forum for Gorean enthusiasts to come and share ideas and ask questions. It contains a section called “The Builders Forum” for those in palace to share scripts.

• Event Calendar (http://calendar.goreanpalaces.com): Promotes that active life of Palace,
to ensure that those who are looking to land where people are, can come to an activity
that will have many people in it – no one likes to land in a chat site with no one in it.

• Blog (http://goreanpalaces.com/blog): is dedicated to Goreans seeking knowledge and a
place to learn about Gor and to share that with others.

• The Drum – emagazine (http://goreanpalaces.com/ezine): An electronic magazine published by members of the Gorean community in Palace. Again this is a great tool for those who are looking for a lively community of chat enthusiasts to come, read and want to participate.

In monitoring the success of these promotional sites, we track five key statistics to ensure that we are still on the right path. Our statistics show us that:-

  • After a humble start of 444 unique visitors in January of 2009 we reached over 6,900 unique visitors in November of 2011, dropping slightly in December due to the holidays and people pending less time online.
  • In November of 2011 we peaked at just over 20,000 visitors for the month, with December falling ust short. The kye point here is that with no budget, and with a number of well-meaning rookies we’ve gone from 610 visitors to over 20,000 visitors in only 2 years, reaching a total 289,905 visitors in 2 years, and 181,000 visitors in 2011 alone.
  • In January of 2009 we had 1.37 returns per visitor; people were not very interested in what they saw. In December of 2011 we are just under 3 returns per visitor (2.93) in a month where people don’t spend as much time on chat sites, and focus more on purchasing Christmas gifts.

In the last three years we’ve come a long way to get recognized on the Search Engines and to have people look at Palace. We have, in fact, brought in people to Palace through the efforts of the Drum (ezine), the Blog, the Forum, the Calendar and even the main site.

Our challenge for 2012 is to double the number of visits per visitor and to promote Palace even more.

How can you help?  …

Very simply!!!

Word of mouth.. if you are in touch with others interested in Gor on other venues – or those who were once on chat realms that have sinced closed, why not suggest that they check out Palace too?

And also by contributing to these sites.. either with articles of your own or comments on articles by others… every little bit helps more then you realise.

Goreans were never shy to voice their opinions, yet many of you read the Drum and never give us your feedback.. so please, take the time to help us to keep Palace growing and make comments and contributions to the Drum and also to the GP Forum and Blog.  They are open for everyone to do so.

If you need assistance regarding any of these sites, please contact Årgos’s slave karimah via email at:  herdelicateheart_01@yahoo.com.

Please help keep Palace alive and growing in 2012!!
